Hi, I’m Heather.
Let’s be honest. LinkedIn gives you the highlight reel. Titles, timelines, logos. But here is where I connect the dots — the skills, the pivots, and the real-world experience that fuel the work I do today.
My path hasn’t been linear, but it has been intentional. I began my career developing member communications and engagement programs, learning how to connect professional associations with their audiences. I then moved into corporate marketing roles where I led brand and thought leadership initiatives for a global management consulting firm. Along the way, I built a yoga studio rooted in community care and consulted independently for wellness brands navigating growth.
These experiences shaped how I lead stakeholders with empathy, clarity, and strategic intent. I bring a steady mix of creative thinking, sound judgment, and operational calm to every team I join.
At the core of my work is storytelling — not just in copy, but in how we build trust and make decisions that resonate. I thrive in cross-functional spaces, often bridging the gap between marketing, development, and operations to drive visibility and results.
If you’re looking for a collaborative marketer who can elevate your brand, streamline your efforts, and turn ambiguity into action, I’d love to connect.
My Story
I graduated with a degree in Public Relations from Illinois State University in 2002 and spent the first 17 years of my career on small marketing teams in the Chicago suburbs. Those years honed my resourcefulness and execution skills.
In 2016, I became a certified yoga instructor and began teaching free community classes in a local park. That joy led me to open Yellow Aura Yoga in downtown Geneva the following year — a boutique studio. By mid-2019, I chose to close the space and return to marketing, re-entering through consulting projects for wellness brands and startups.
From 2021–2025, I worked with Kearney, a top-tier global consulting firm, leading content marketing and communications for high-growth practice areas including Communications, Media & Technology, Digital Transformation, Product Excellence, and Sustainability. Based in Chicago at first and later transitioning to fully remote, I partnered with senior leaders to create thought leadership, digital campaigns, webinars, podcasts, ABM programs, and global initiatives that elevated the firm.
Today, I’m in Connecticut, in transition — open to FTE and contract marketing work, teaching yoga when I can, and expanding my skills in Generative AI for Marketing.
